NAB Show ‘09 : Photos

NAB Entrance
The NAB Show ‘09 is now over. It was my first one and it was such a great pleasure to have the opportunity to be here. If I do go again though, I would only stay for 2 or 3 days because a week is far too long to spend in Vegas.

Jeff Greenberg and David Helfand
I attended some great conferences about Final Cut Server, Apple Compressor, Final Cut Pro … etc … hosted by great professional trainers. I also listened to a few awesome keynotes.
The Supermeet was pretty short for me because I had to leave early. They opened the conference with an amazing short film – I highly recommend taking a look : “STAND BY ME” performed by musicians around the world for “Playing for a change : Peace through music”.
Lite Panels was everywhere. I have to admit it was a great marketing job because it worked! I want to buy a few for our Studio. They are a bit expensive but that’s really the only drawback.
Blackmagic Design had a lot of news. Check out their website to learn more about it.
AJA was there of course and they had different announcements but the big one was KI PRO. It is an amazing product. It allows you to remove the digitizing part from your workflow. It can directly capture any source to Prores !
This new RAID system from Active Storage has been reviewed by Matt Geller from Metamedia and posted on the Xsanity website. I like the design, it reminds me a lot of the XRaid that Apple stopped producing.
I do not have any pictures but another very interesting product was the CompressHD from Matrox which is a card to compress in real time to H.264 (Apple Devices, SD, HD …)
